New Era Service Projects

More Americans than ever are choosing Amtrak for their personal and business trips. In Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24), Amtrak ridership reached a historic high of 32.8 million customers, reflecting the nation’s growing demand for passenger rail service.

In FY24, Amtrak invested an unprecedented $4.5 billion into major infrastructure and fleet projects, creating thousands of jobs in rail construction and manufacturing. The development and expansion of Amtrak’s National Network is being driven by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Corridor Identification and Development (CID) Program. Amtrak is committed to working with the FRA and state partners to grow intercity passenger rail across the country.

As America’s Railroad, Amtrak is uniquely positioned to support the proposed expansion of intercity passenger rail across the many corridors identified by the FRA. This includes nearly 54 years of experience connecting communities across America, as well as strong teams dedicated to Network Planning, Capital Delivery and Service Delivery & Operations with employees located across the United States.
